Fresh or Frozen?
Research has proven that contrary to popular belief, the taste and texture of frozen foods is just as good as ‘fresh’ foods.
New ‘sensory comparison’ research carried out by the Manchester Food Research Centre has confirmed that the taste and texture of frozen foods is as good as, and is sometimes even superior to, ‘fresh’ foods.
Research involved 32 top chefs rating the taste and texture characteristics of eight different food stuffs, including fish, meat, fruit and pastry. The research highlighted that there was no statistically significant difference in overall ratings between the frozen and fresh foodstuffs tested.
